Prosecuting Jesus

4/11/2017
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

During his career as a former federal and state prosecutor and as a public defender, Kirk Schoenbein tried over 80 felony trials, including two death penalty cases. Kirk will be speaking in his capacity as a former prosecutor as he examines the prosecution of Jesus from the perspective of a prosecuting attorney.

  • - How did Christ's prosecutors build their case?
  • - What charges did they consider, reject, and ultimately pursue?
  • - What defenses could have been made on Christ's behalf?
  • - Did Christ's prosecution conform to Jewish and Roman law?

These are just some of the questions that will be considered, in addition to what Christ’s criminal death means for each one of us.

This lecture will take place at Grace Church (1325 E. Jefferson St., Morton) on Tuesday, April 11 from 6:30- 8:30pm.
