Awana Clubs

4/21/2021
6:00 PM

Tonight is leader appreciation night. Give your leader a note to let them know how much they mean to you.

Awana Clubs for kids ages 3 - 5th grade will be held at our new facility at  27577 Dutch Lane, Washington, IL.. The clubs meet each Wednesday from 6-7:30pm.

Awana is a dynamic ministry that begins after Labor Day and ends in May. The name Awana is an acronym for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” which is taken from 2 Tim. 2:15. The purpose of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. Each club night consists of three half hour segments including teaching time (large group lesson), book time (where children recite Bible verses they have worked on at home), and game time (fun games played).  Children are divided into club groups (Cubbies, Sparks, Truth & Training) based on year in school/age.

COVID-19 Related Protocols and Changes for 2020

Cubbies will not be meeting at the church to start the year for Awana. Cubbies parents will have the option to work through the Cubbies book remotely with their child.  This could be subject to change if things start to return to normal as the year goes on.  At this time we are also planning on having pre-recorded online lessons available for the Cubbies to watch.

Sparks and T & T will have handbook time at 6, then meet together (socially distanced) for story time at 6:30. An optional game time outside will be available from 7 - 7:30.
