Don was born and raised in Peoria, growing up in the Lutheran faith. He spent six years in the Navy, followed by completion of an undergraduate and Masters degree in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University. He retired from Caterpillar after 21 years in Electric Power Division. Don has been married to Santa for over 36 years. She works as an RN at the OSF Transfer Center. They have four grown children. When not working he enjoys reading, tending to a small garden and playing with their dog.
