Grades 6-8
Our goal is to help students grow in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ by partnering with parents in the spiritual development of their children. We realize that it is the Lord’s working in a person’s life that brings about change.
On Sundays at 9am we meet in room 208 (Gym) for Sunday School. Our time during Sunday School starts with a student-led ice breaker. After the ice breaker, we have a Bible lesson. There are several men who rotate through a teaching schedule to provide a lesson. After the lesson, we break up into small groups for the remainder of our time together, which are grouped by grade and gender. Each small group is led by two or three adults of the same gender. This small group time is a very special part of our ministry as it builds relationships between the students and small group leaders, thinking through age-appropriate applications from the lesson and praying together.
Wednesday night Youth Group during the school year is from 6-7:40pm at our church building. At 6pm, we start our time together with Game Time, either in the gym or outdoors, weather permitting. Around 6:30, we meet in our room 101B (high school youth room) for worship. Our time of worship is led by high school students, and typically consists of three songs. After worship, the EDGE and IMAGE (high school) split into their respective rooms for lessons (EDGE meets in room 101C). Following the lesson, a snack is provided and the students split into their small groups, which are the same groups that meet on Sunday mornings.
Every month, we try to plan one youth activity that is outside of a Sunday and Wednesday. Some months we do service projects and some months are just fun activities. At times, these activities are with our IMAGE group, and some months the activities are separate from IMAGE. Each Fall, we have an EDGE Fall Retreat. We thoroughly enjoy this time as we have seen students and leaders benefit greatly from spending a weekend together. This year, our EDGE Fall Retreat is on November 7-9, 2025.
